Mission & Goals
dTest is a non-profit organisation founded in 1992 with the name Czech Association of Consumers TEST. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive consumer service via our magazine dTest (www.dtest.cz) and our brochures and phone hotline. We publish tests, promote consumer rights and aspire to their improvement. Our comparative tools and calculators simplify the selection of services. We also warn against dangerous products with our constantly updated database, against deceptive business practices and educate businesses and consumers.
EU Legislative Interests
We are dedicated to participate on consumer protection, telecommunications, energy, food, chemicals, consumer safety, financial services from consumers perspective and the development of consumer rights in these areas. Proposals, new regulations, European Parliament Resolutions, Council Decisions or reports on: • Consumer contract law (Consumer rights directive, Directive (EU) 2019/771 on certain aspects concerning contracts for the sale of goods & The Unfair Contract Terms Directive (93/13/EEC)) • Representative Actions directive • Consumer protection cooperation regulation • Unfair commercial practices and price indication (Misleading and comparative advertising directive, Price indication directive & Unfair commercial practices directive) • Travel and timeshare law (Package travel directive &Timeshare directive) • Review of EU consumer law (Digital Fairness Act) • Directive on repair of goods • Digital market and Digital Services (Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act);
Communication Activities
In the above-mentioned areas, we disseminate information through a monthly printed/online magazine, our website, podcasts, social media channels (LI, Meta, X, YT), and via press releases to the media. For selected areas (such as consumer rights enforcement, chemicals, etc.), our website also offers the possibility to subscribe to regular topic-specific updates, so-called campaigns.
