Mission & Goals
Drax Group is a flexible and renewable energy company that owns and operates a portfolio of assets in the UK. These include Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire (sustainable biomass), Cruachan Power Station in Argyll and Bute (pumped storage hydro) and the Lanark and Galloway hydro-electric schemes (run-of-river) in southwest Scotland. Drax has also acquired three ready-to-build battery energy storage (BESS) projects, with the first site operational in 2027. In addition, Drax operates a global bioenergy supply business for our own use and customers in Asia and Europe. In 2024, Drax launched Elimini, wholly owned, U.S-based subsidiary focused on carbon removals.
