Mission & Goals
DevInt e.V., short for Development International, is a non-profit NGO committed to promoting human rights, sustainable development, and transparent governance in emerging and developing countries. The organization focuses on supporting communities by enhancing local capacities, and advocating for legal and policy reforms to uphold human, environmental, and indigenous peoples' rights. Key initiatives include a human rights monitoring project in South-East Asia Pacific. DevInt e.V. collaborates with local partners to ensure that interventions are culturally relevant and sustainable, also engaging with international bodies to bring global attention to the issues faced by these communities. Through research, advocacy, and grassroots projects, DevInt e.V. strives to make a tangible impact on the ground while influencing policy at higher levels to support long-term positive change.
EU Legislative Interests
DevInt e.V. actively lobbies EU institutions, including the European Parliament, Council of the EU and the European Commission, to advocate for stronger human rights protections, particularly in South-East Asian / Pacific countries. Key issues include: - EU-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement - COHOM, COASI meetings - Regulation on Deforestation-free products (EUDR) - AFET, DEVE, INTA committees, DROI sub-committee and DASE Delegation in the EP - EP urgency resolutions on the situation of human rights - European Parliament Annual Reports on Human Rights - EU Guidelines on Human Rights Defenders (2008) - EU-third countries Human Rights dialogues
Communication Activities
DevInt e.V. releases publications through its project Human Rights Monitor, prepares policy briefs, and recommendations that detail the need for legal reforms, especially those benefiting human rights and sustainable development in targeted regions.
