Mission & Goals
The Deutsch-Südamerikanischer Verein e.V. (DSV) is a Munich-based non-profit civil society organisation promoting economic and civil society cooperation between Germany and South America. DSV supports SMEs and businesses in both regions through strategic business matchmaking, project financing advisory, and navigation of German, European and multilateral funding instruments. DSV operates bidirectionally: accompanying German companies entering South American markets (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia) and supporting South American businesses and investors engaging with Germany and the EU. DSV coordinates with embassies, investment promotion agencies, development finance institutions, and business associations in both regions, including the BVMW Mittelstandsinitiative Lateinamerika and the Enterprise Europe Network.
EU Legislative Interests
DSV focuses on the practical implementation of the EU-Mercosur trade and investment relationship, supporting SMEs and businesses in both regions to benefit from the agreement. DSV engages with EU trade policy towards South America, EU development finance and investment promotion instruments, and EU funding programmes relevant to German-South American economic cooperation. DSV also follows EU policy on SME internationalisation, sustainable trade, and bilateral investment facilitation in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
Communication Activities
DSV organises bilateral business matchmaking events and informational workshops for German SMEs and South American companies on EU-Mercosur trade and investment opportunities. DSV advises companies and project partners on EU and German funding instruments relevant to the German-South American economic corridor, including in the context of the EU-Mercosur agreement's provisional application. DSV maintains an active network with German, Bavarian and EU institutions including the BVMW Mittelstandsinitiative Lateinamerika, the Enterprise Europe Network, ApexBrasil, ect.
