EU Legislative Interests
Colleagues may be involved in following / discussing developments relating to: accounting & audit; AML / CFT; corporate reporting & corporate governance; digital; financial services; sustainability; tax. Other dossiers may also be of interest.
Communication Activities
Deloitte UK partners and staff occasionally attend EU-related events on various topics organised by third parties. Deloitte UK may also sponsor such events from time to time and/or convene events where EU stakeholders may speak / attend. This includes for example ongoing work with third parties on provisions for information sharing and public-private cooperation in relation to financial crime. From a tax perspective, Deloitte UK can be involved with consultation responses (typically in collaboration with other Deloitte member firms/affiliates) where we generally comment (from practical experience as tax advisers) on the likely effectiveness of proposed measures to meet stated public policy objectives and on likely side-effects. This activity is carried out on Deloitte’s own behalf.
