EU Legislative Interests

The protection of the deep ocean through managing the damaging impacts of activities such as deep-sea fisheries and deep-sea mining is subject to multiple discussions at the European Parliament. Many of the EU’s actions such as the raw materials initiative, the Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the EU Batteries Regulation and the EU Ocean Pact are of close interest to the DSCC as well as the ongoing implementation of the Deep Sea Access Regime - EU Regulation 2016/2336.
