Mission & Goals
The Association promotes Data, Big Data and AI Research and Innovation. The objectives of the Association are: - To boost data and AI (Artificial Intelligence) innovation and data value creation for business, citizens and the environment - To foster excellence in data and AI research for competitiveness and prosperity - To develop the sustainable innovation ecosystem that enables and accelerates data and AI economy with European values and focus but global impact and ambitions - To lead and be at the forefront of the dynamic change that data and AI brings to business and society
EU Legislative Interests
BDVA is a founder member of Adra, the private association for the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership BDVA is a private member of the EuroHPC JU Policy files: Research and Innovation policies, Partnerships in Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programme and next MFF (FP10). Industrial policies, Digital Decade, Work programmes for Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programme, AI Continent Action Plan, European Data Union, European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud, Digital Skills. GenAI4EU, ApplyAI, AI Factories, AIGFs, AI in Science and the Cloud and AI development Act. Through its strategic research and innovation agendas and other position and discussion papers BDVA provides input to technological and non-technological roadmaps for the adoption of Big Data and AI technologies in multiple sectors and Society Legislative files: AI Act, Data Act, Data Governance Act, Standardisation Strategy, Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act, EHDS. Digital Omnibus BDVA is also working very closely to standardisation bodies (CEN-CENELEC JTC21 and JTC25 e.g) trying to connect ecosystem of Standardization-research/Innovation-regulation-adoption
