Mission & Goals
PURPOSE 2.1 The association is a non-profit organization. 2.2 The purpose of the association is: 2.2.1 to promote a common understanding of compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act. 2.3 The Association will further its purpose by: 2.3.1 to seek dialogue with the Danish Data Protection Agency in matters of interpretation of the rules and be an advocate on behalf of the Association's members. 2.3.2 to influence and participate actively in the public debate; 2.3.3 to participate in committees, boards, committees and the like 2.3.4 to promote good advice and data ethics and information security among members; 2.3.5 to form and operate networks where ideas and experiences about GDPR advice can be exchanged between members 2.3.6 to plan and possibly hold events that support the Association's purpose 2.4 The Association remains independent of private and public interests.
EU Legislative Interests
Our professional focus relates to the EU’s data-protection and digital-regulation framework. Any potential influencing activity by the Association would be limited to transparent forms of expert participation (e.g. responding to public consultations or speaking in open hearings). In that regard, the EU instruments relevant to our field of work are: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive) Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (Artificial Intelligence Act) Directive (EU) 2022/2555 (NIS 2 Directive) Regulation (EU) 2022/2554 (DORA) Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (Data Act) and Regulation (EU) 2022/868 (Data Governance Act) These instruments form the substantive framework within which our members operate professionally and are therefore the basis for any expert input we may provide in fully transparent settings.
Communication Activities
Association events and meetings as described in bylaws. Our communication and knowledge-sharing activities include: Member events, webinars and conferences on developments under the GDPR, the AI Act, NIS 2, DORA and related EU rules; Publicly accessible articles, short analyses and posts on our website or LinkedIn page discussing EU regulatory developments relevant to Data Protection Officers; Professional networks and working groups where members exchange experiences on implementing the above EU instruments. These activities aim solely at professional education and informed public dialogue. They do not involve informal or bilateral lobbying of EU institutions.
