Mission & Goals
Counter Balance is a European coalition of development and environmental non-governmental organisations, formed in 2007 to specifically challenge the European Investment Bank. While the EIB remains our main target, we have since then expanded the scope of our work to other public finance institutions. Counter Balance's mission is to make European public finance a key driver of the transition towards socially and environmentally sustainable and equitable societies. Counter Balance includes members from: * Central and Eastern Europe: CEE Bankwatch Network * France: les Amis de la Terre * Germany: urgewald * Italy: Re:Common * Netherlands: BothEnds * Spain: ODG * United Kingdom: Bretton Woods Project, The Corner House, Platform London
