Mission & Goals
El CIBER es uno de los instrumentos de los que dispone la Administración General del Estado para alcanzar las metas establecidas en la Estrategia 3 Estatal y en los Planes Estatales de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación, y más concretamente: a. Articular el Sistema de Ciencia y Tecnología en el ámbito de la salud. b. Incorporar la filosofía general de las estructuras estables de investigación cooperativa dentro de la Acción Estratégica en Salud. c. Desarrollar programas de investigación comunes que incorporen iniciativas multicéntricas y corporativas. d. Disponer de un marco organizativo común. e. Fortalecer las estructuras de los grupos de investigación de las entidades constituyentes del consorcio. f. Constituir el modelo de relaciones con las iniciativas de estructuras a nivel europeo y global.

Additional Information
CIBER depends on Instituto de Salud Carlos III which provides a determined amount of structural funds each year coming from State's general budget. Furthermore CIBER participates in competitive calls both in national and international funding programs. Only the funds coming from national grants of the ISCIII exceed the 10% of our budget. Therefore ISCIII funds are the only ones included as contributors. Nevertheless, due to their different nature we have been included structural/grants funds as two independent funds sources.
