Mission & Goals
CONFIAD Pan European Network (Confédération des Agents en Douane), International Federation of Customs Brokers and Customs Representatives, was founded in 1982 as organization of the European Customs Brokers, with the purpose to defend and coordinate the professional interests of its members, supporting a harmonization of the legislative, professional and customs regulations at European level. Customs brokers, also known as "customs agents", are natural or legal persons whose main duty is to assist importers and exporters in the customs clearance, and in general, in the fulfilment of all the customs operations and formalities related to the international movement of goods.

CONFIAD is not a member of other associations, (con)federations, networks and other bodies. CONFIAD is made up of national associations listed in the next field. The member associations are contributing to CONFIAD's statutory activities through membership fees being the only source of funds for CONFIAD. No other private or public entity contributes to CONFIAD's activities financially or organizationally (e.g. control of activities or decision-making). In its turn, CONFIAD uses the funds for its statutory activities.
