Mission & Goals
The Confederation of the Spanish Mining and Metallurgical Companies (CONFEDEM) was founded in 1978 to represent most of the companies in the sector in Spain. Currently, the association is the recognized representative of the Spanish mining industry of metals and minerals and represents twenty-three companies and two associations. Together, partner companies provide work to more than 23,000 people between direct and indirect jobs, not counting induced jobs. Through the activities and operations of these members, more than 12 different metals and minerals are produced. It also has the quality trademark for GMMS® (Sustainable Metallurgical Mining Management) that can offer partners to implement UNE 22470 and UNE 22480 standards in their company. As described above in the "Goals" paragraph, Sustainable Mining & Metallurgical Management is our basis and strength. Currently working as Project Partner at EIT RM Organizing MRM related seminars several times a year in Spain.
