Communication Activities

Since 2008, San Patrignano has been organizing activities and initiatives focused on prevention and anti-drug themes. We promote healthy life styles and involve young people in theatrical events, laboratories, workshop, debates, online and in presence. In the last year we met more than 75,000 people with our information and prevention activities: nearly 60,000 youngsters between 11 and 19; more than 4,000 teachers and 2,000 parents and educators. Representatives of San Patrignano participated actively as speakers in International fora, contributing with their expertise in the social field, particularly regarding prevention, treatment, recovery, and social reintegration. As San Patrignano is a member of the Civil Society Forum on Drugs (consultative body for the EU Commission) and in consultative status with ECOSOC since 1997, we actively collaborate and contribute to the work of the EU and UN: Every year we organize side events at the annual session of the CND in Vienna and participate as speakers at numerous side events organized by Member States and other NGOs. In 2025, we organized a side event in collaboration with OAS/CICAD on the alternative to incarceration and social reintegration of justice-involved individuals with substance use disorders involving 10 countries form LA and Carrebean: the social entreprise model of our TC rises great interest among governemntal delegations. In 2016, we attended and contributed to the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Drugs 2016 in New York, organizing a side event called "The Social and Economic Advantages of Investing in Recovery." All the side events we collected during the years, prior 2016 and afterwards, can be found on the UNODC website. We welcome frequent study visits from Governmental Delegations and NGOs. Since 2014, San Patrignano has realized an International Workshop (two to three times a year), Lectures, and Experiential learning labs for social workers, social practitioners working on addiction, researchers, istitutional delegations, and NGOs interested in the rehabilitation and social reinsertion model of the biggest community in Europe. The most recent International Workshop took place in Ocotber 2025, and saw the participation on 20 people coming from Canada, US, UK, Australia, and Ireland.
