Mission & Goals

STIL ŽELEZO is a privately owned limited liability company based in Skopje, North Macedonia, specialized in the production of reinforced steel products such as welded mesh, bent and cut rebar, and pile cages. The company serves the domestic construction market and is actively expanding toward the EU and regional export markets. Its mission is to provide high-quality, reliable, and certified steel solutions that meet the growing demand for sustainable infrastructure. STIL ŽELEZO’s strategic goals include increasing production capacity, investing in advanced European machinery, reducing material waste, improving energy efficiency, and contributing to the development of a skilled industrial workforce. The company is committed to aligning with EU market standards, ESG principles, and the long-term vision of making North Macedonia a regional leader in modern steel manufacturing.

EU Legislative Interests

The STIL ŽELEZO investment project directly supports and aligns with several core EU legislative proposals, policy frameworks, and strategic objectives. These include key priorities related to green transition, circular economy, industrial competitiveness, sustainable construction, and regional integration of Western Balkan economies. The project contributes to the following EU policy frameworks: European Green Deal (COM/2019/640 final) The project is aligned with the Green Deal objectives by promoting cleaner industrial production through reduced material waste, the use of precision-controlled machinery, and the planned integration of renewable energy sources (solar panels). These elements contribute to the decarbonisation of industry and more sustainable resource use. EU Industrial Strategy and Updated Strategy (2021) The investment supports modernization and resilience of the steel value chain, automation of industrial processes, and technological upgrading in a traditional sector (construction steel), in line with the EU’s goal to strengthen the industrial base and ensure open strategic autonomy. Fit for 55 Package and Climate Target Plan 2030 By improving operational energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions per unit of output, STIL ŽELEZO’s investment contributes to emission-reduction pathways in line with EU climate targets and carbon neutrality goals by 2050. Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) The project incorporates circularity principles through raw material efficiency, digital monitoring of production waste, and re-use of cut-off steel. This contributes to sustainable production and the reduction of construction-sector material loss. Construction Products Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 305/2011) STIL ŽELEZO is targeting CE-marked, EN-compliant steel products, supporting harmonization with EU construction product standards and facilitating market access in Member States. Western Balkans Economic and Investment Plan (COM(2020) 641 final) This investment aligns with Flagship 1 (Sustainable Transport and Connectivity) and Flagship 7 (Private Sector Support) by promoting regional infrastructure resilience and strengthening the private manufacturing base in the Western Balkans. European Pillar of Social Rights The project is designed to improve workplace conditions, implement training for industrial operators, and promote inclusive job creation with fair working conditions, health and safety compliance, and respect for labor rights. EU Taxonomy Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2020/852) While not directly subject to disclosure obligations, the company aims to align with key taxonomy principles, especially regarding climate change mitigation, pollution prevention, and sustainable use of resources.
