Mission & Goals
CECIP is the European association for national trade organisations representing the European manufacturers of weighing instruments. Founded in 1958, CECIP has today 10 member associations: Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Slovak Republic, Spain, Switzerland and United Kingdom. And 3 individual companies from Finland, Portugal and Turkey. The weighing industry has gone through tremendous changes in the past decades with new technologies and techniques being introduced in all sectors. Nowadays weighing instruments plays an important role in every industry, contributing to the quality of the final product. Today CECIP is playing its role within Europe, striving for common and harmonised standards to be adopted at European and International levels to provide safety and quality to both consumers and users of weighing instruments.

Communication Activities
The next international conference of weighing (ICW) will take place from 8-10th June 2026 in Kitakyushu, Japan. The conference will bring together scientific, legal and applied metrology. Regional organizations such as WELMEC, APLMF, Afrimet or Gulfmet will be invited. The same applies for the global level represented by the OIML and the BIPM. On an annual basis CECIP meets for a General Assembly, which consits of several meetings covering 2-3 days. During this years General Assembly a video production has been produced. CECIP organises the 'World With Weighing' campaign that aims at informing users and buyers of weighing instrument about the importance of weighing.
