Mission & Goals

CCB is a network of national NGOs formed to organize cooperation among member organisations, and to via the international office staff represent all Baltic region grass root NGOs in international fora, to follow the development of processes and relevant environmental and marine policies on an EU level and act towards relevant bodies such as HELCOM, BSAC, EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region etc. CCBs aim is to promote a sustainable development and the protection and restoration of the Baltic Sea catchment, the Baltic Sea water status and marine life.

CFP; MSFD; Habitat Directive; Circular Economy, Blue Growth Initiative; MSP; IED; UWWTD; Green Deal; Zero Pollution Action Plan; CAP and water protection policies; WFD and Regional Sea Convention HELCOM; EU eel management plan. Nature Restoration Law

Communication Activities

Implementation of CFP and the multiannual management plan for Baltic Fish stocks; HELCOM BSAP implementation; implementation of MSFD Program of Measures: litter, biodiversity/fisheries, eutrophication, aquaculture. Creation of MPAs and harbour porpoise protection. Updating the EU eel recovery plan and information about eel in general. CCB is also engaged in cross border cooperations with environmental organisations and experts in the Baltic Sea Region.

IUCN, European Seas Environmental Cooperation (ESEC, 4 regional NGO networks joint platform), CCB is a ExCom member of the Baltic Sea fishery Advisory Council(BSAC), CCB is an observer in HELCOM, ICES and NASCO. CCB actively participates in the Jastarnia Group (a WG of ASCOBANS)
