Mission & Goals
Climate Group drives climate action. Fast. Our goal is a world of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, with greater prosperity for all. We focus on systems with the highest emissions and where our networks have the greatest opportunity to drive change. We do this by building large and influential networks and holding organisations accountable, turning their commitments into action. We share what we achieve together to show more organisations what they could do.
EU Legislative Interests
The Climate Group's main EU initiatives are EU climate, energy and transport policy. Transport: Our EV100 and EV100+ campaigns aim at accelerating the decarbonisation of road transport. We believe that the most efficient way to reduce emissions from this sector is via battery electric vehicles. Our EV100 members are committed to switching their owned and contracted fleets (up to 7.5t) to electric vehicles and to install charging infrastructure for employees and customers by 2030. Our EV100+ members are committed to only procuring zero-emission medium-duty vehicles by 2030 and a full deployment of zero-emission MHDV by 2040 The main legislative proposals/policies targeted are reducing CO₂ emissions from heavy-duty vehicles, Greening corporate fleets initiative, Euro VII/7 standards, alternative fuels infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), CO₂ emission performance standards for cars and vans, Revision of the Air Quality Directive, Energy performance of buildings Directive, Renewable energy Directive, Regulation on batteries and waste batteries, European Critical Raw Materials Act. Industry Members of our SteelZero campaign commit to use, procure, specify or stock net zero steel, and work together with their networks to make this happen by 2050. The main legislative proposals/policies targeted are incorporating globally agreed and independently verified definitions of low embodied carbon, near zero, net zero, responsible and green steel in the EU CBAM and ETS.
Communication Activities
Communication activities (events, campaigns, publications, etc.) related to the EU policies above: We engage with policy makers as well as businesses to promote a rapid transition towards net zero. Our activities include letters to policy-makers, knowledge sharing events for businesses, press releases shared with relevant press contacts, policy working group meetings with our members, and campaign coordination with other stakeholders.

Additional Information
In terms of expenditures, we can only give an estimate as we don't have a breakdown for the EU only.
