Mission & Goals

Climate Bonds is an international organisation working to mobilise global capital for climate action and resilience, ensuring investments support a sustainable, adaptive, and low-carbon future. Climate Bonds’ strategy over the next three years is articulated around four strategic objectives. The first objective is to optimise our impact and ability to deliver on our mission by strengthening internal strategies, structures, and processes. Our second objective is to expand and strengthen this role by catalysing the growth of a large and credible sustainable finance market to achieve a target of $5tn in annual issuances of Green, Social, Sustainability, and other sustainable labelled debt by 2025. Our third objective focuses on inspiring investors to champion and promote the transition to a green and resilient future. Our fourth strategic objective is to shape the climate policy agenda by urging governments to establish a favourable environment for green and resilient investments.

In addition, the organisation tracks post-issuance reporting and green bond pricing in the primary market, green bond underwriter league tables and stock exchanges with green/sustainability bond segments. Climate Bonds issues thematic reports as well ( e.g. on sectors and structures used in the market), while also producing guides to facilitate issuance. Climate Bonds publishes regular market news, designed as both a journal of record for bond issuance and updates on investment news and research material to fixed income investment in climate solutions.
