Additional Information
The number disclosed under procurement represents our estimate of Cisco’s business with the EU institutions during the last financial year. An estimate and not a precise number is provided because of the following: All Cisco’s business with the EU institutions is conducted through our channel partners who resell Cisco equipment and then set their prices with the EU institutions independently of Cisco. We therefore do not have full visibility of the total EU-spend on Cisco products and services as that would depend on the price agreed between our channel partner and the relevant EU institution. Further, due to the fact that any sale to the EU institutions happens through our channel partners, there is also a possibility that part of Cisco’s business is counted in channel partners’ declarations who are registered in the transparency register. Cisco sales to the EU institutions may also not appear through the European financial transparency system, because Cisco’s channel model entails that Cisco does not apply for or sign any tenders directly with the EU institutions, and Cisco may be listed as one out of several possible vendors in a tender award. The disclosed number has not been cross-referenced with any otherwise publicly available financial information about Cisco business with the EU institutions.
