Mission & Goals

Circmar is a Norwegian company focused on accelerating the transition to circular packaging in the seafood industry. Its remit is to reduce waste, emissions, and resource use associated with seafood transport while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and efficiency. Circmar replaces single-use packaging such as polystyrene fish boxes and wooden pallets with durable, reusable alternatives offered through a packaging-as-a-service model. Customers rent standardized packaging that is collected after use, professionally cleaned, disinfected, inspected, and returned to circulation. This closed-loop system keeps materials in use for longer and lowers environmental impact. By combining reuse, digital tracking, and centralized cleaning and logistics, Circmar supports regulatory compliance, improves traceability, and helps seafood companies reduce operational complexity while moving toward a more sustainable and resilient supply chain.
