Mission & Goals
CIOPORA is the international community of breeders of asexually reproduced horticultural plants. Top priority of CIOPORA is the constant development and enhancement of systems of Intellectual Property protection for plant innovation, which include Plant Breeders' Rights, Patents, Plant Patents, and Trademarks.
EU Legislative Interests
Contribution to EU consultations: - IP sub-committees on Central America and South America (Peru, Ecuador and Colombia); - EU-Korea FTA; - EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement; - IPR WGs (Vietnam, Taiwan, Transatlantic IPR WG, etc.); - Third Country Report; - EU-Thailand IP Dialogue; - NBTs and PMR Proposals for Regulation Preparatory work for the upcoming review of the Community Plant Variety Protection Regulation EU initiatives related to IP Enforcement and anti-counterfeiting (EU Toolbox, joint seminar EUIPO-CPVO on IP enforcement in agriculture, cooperation within the EUIPO Observatory) IPKey initiatives in Latin America, China, and SEA.
