Mission & Goals
CIFTJA Technologies AS was founded in Trondheim, Norway, 2019 with the aim to provide novel and advanced nitride-based ceramic materials to the PV & Electronic Silicon Industry in need for specially designed inert ceramic products. CIFTJA Technologies has developed a novel technology for production of pure reaction-bonded silicon nitride materials through direct reaction of silicon with nitrogen gas. Our technology would make it possible to provide a new game-changing ceramic technology which will dramatically lower the production cost, and increase yield and quality of mono-crystalline silicon ingots. By replacing the present graphite components with our ceramic materials, we will strongly contribute to the de-carbonization of the PV Silicon industry.
EU Legislative Interests
1. European Green Deal: The European Green Deal is a comprehensive strategy to transform the EU into a climate-neutral economy by 2050. Key Initiatives: Climate Action: The Green Deal sets ambitious targets for emissions reductions and promotes renewable energy sources. Sustainable Industry: The Green Deal encourages sustainable production and manufacturing practices, including promoting the circular economy. Circular Economy: The Green Deal aims to promote a circular economy, where waste is minimized and resources are reused and recycled. 2. Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA): The CRMA (Regulation (EU) 2024/1252) aims to ensure the EU's access to a secure, resilient, and sustainable supply of critical raw materials (CRMs). Our technology saves graphite as a valuable raw material by replacing graphite part in Mono-Silicon crystallization furnaces with superior and low-cost ceramic materials.
Communication Activities
We have received support from EIT Raw Materials, co-founded by EU. Communications with EC officials during Horizon 2020 Framework (EIC-SMEInst-2018-2020). Several scientific publications on the results of our technology.
