Mission & Goals
The China Strategic Risks Institute (China Risks Limited, CSRI) is a think tank that provides research and analysis on issues related to foreign affairs.
EU Legislative Interests
CSRI's recent analysis has included the security of the EU's solar PV supply chain, and impact on the Net Zero Industry Act, Horizon funding programmes and Global Gateway Initiative. CSRI has also commented on the EU's foreign policy with regards to the People's Republic of China and Hong Kong. CSRI has also conducted analysis on Economic Security initiatives addressed by the EU, including the Minerals Security Partnership, the EU-US Trade and Technology Council and the EU Batteries Regulation. CSRI publications have also examined the EU and EU Member State policies towards electric vehicles, including tariff, data security regimes and other relevant policies, and measures to enhance undersea cable security, including the EU Action Plan on Cable Security. CSRI publications have also made recommendations pertaining to the use of the EU's sanctions regime, EU Member State export control regimes and statements issued by EEAS.
Communication Activities
CSRI provides research and analysis on issues pertaining to foreign affairs. In February 2024 and April 2024, CSRI staff met with EEAS officials and a number of MEPs and their staff to discuss recent political developments in Hong Kong and the EU's response. In October 2024, CSRI staff met with EEAS officials and a number of MEPs and their staff to discuss economic security and Taiwan. Including its recent publications on Taiwan and economic security.
