Mission & Goals
The German-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania), established in September 2002 and counting more than 700 member companies is the largest bilateral economic association in Romania. AHK Romania is the official representative of the German economy in Romania, playing a key role in fostering the German-Romanian economic relations. As a bilateral chamber and member organization, the AHK Romanian represents the interests of German and Romanian companies among national public state entities such as the Government, the Parliament / Senate and agencies. Furthermore, we represent our interest on an European level, e.g. with Members of the European Parliament and representatives of the European Commission.
EU Legislative Interests
We are targeting EU policies in relation to the objectives of the members of the chamber and the business community in general. As dictated by the European Directives and then the Romanian context, we are targeting policies regarding the Green Deal, Common Agricultural Policies, resilient health strategies, internal market, New Industrial Strategy, unfair trade policies, Fit for 55, energy, public procurement, digitization, EU funding mechanisms, R&D and education policies.
Communication Activities
Presenting position documents and carrying discussions with Members of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
