Mission & Goals
The Centre for Humanitarian Action (CHA) is a Berlin-based think tank founded in 2018, which engages in independent analysis, initiates debates and spreads the word about humanitarian action and principles amongst the general public. The CHA is an initiative of humanitarian non-governmental organisations to strengthen German and international humanitarian action.
EU Legislative Interests
The Centre for Humanitarian Action has been engaging in communication, advising and policy activities based on its independent research towards the EU Institutions, with particular focus on the European Commissions Directorates' DG ECHO and INTPA in the following areas: Financing of humanitarian system Policy topics including resilience, humanitarian development peace nexus (HDP-Nexus), the Grand Bargain and forgotten crises. COM(2021) 110 final: COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMISSION TO THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND THE COUNCIL on the EU’s humanitarian action: new challenges, same principles. EU Humanitarian Forum 2024, closed side-event with donor representatives. EU Humanitarian Forum 2025, closed side-event with donor representatives.
