Mission & Goals
Centre for Environmental Initiatives "Ecoaction" is an NGO uniting efforts of experts and activists in a joint struggle to protect the environment. Our Vision: To maintain a clean and safe environment throughout all aspects of human development. Our Mission: To protect the environment via influencing decision makers and stakeholders and to develop an active Ukrainian community. Our goals: (1) green reconstruction of Ukraine; (2) achieving an energy efficient economy and 100% renewables-based energy sector by 2050; (3) informing the population on climate change issues; (4) dissemination of progressive climate policy in Ukraine; (5) development of public transport infrastructure to reduce harmful automotive industry emissions; (6) ecological safety of agricultural production through the implementation of modern standards, norms and technologies; (7) supporting communities that defend their environmental rights and seek to participate in decision-making.

Communication Activities
05.08.2025 Meeting of CSO, including Ecoaction representative, with Alberto Fernandez-Diez, personal assistant of Commissioner Marta Kos, to discuss Ukraine’s EU accession recent developments. 09.07.2025 Ecoaction and civil society organisations called for the establishment of an independent monitoring committee for a Just Transition Programme in Ukraine. 27.05.2025 Ecoaction representative spoke at the 10th Enlargement Day is the European Committee of the Regions', Working group on Ukraine, covering the topic of green reconstruction of Ukrainian communities. 17.01.2025 CSOs meeting, including Ecoaction representatives, with staff of DG ENEST to discuss Ukraine Facility and related developments. 03.10.2024 Ecoaction and other environmental NGOs shared with DG NEAR (ENEST) and publicly communicated a position on the possible narrowing of EIA and SEA in Ukraine. 19.06.2024 Ecoaction and 30 environmental NGOs sent an appeal to Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Union on the risks of adoption the draft law No. 9516 in Ukraine (related to deforestation threat in the Carpathians). 06.02.2024 Together with CEE Bankwatch, Transport & Environment and Greenpeace, Ecoaction prepared and sent to DG NEAR proposals for the draft Ukraine Facility Plan. 23.01.2024 Together with non-governmental organisations WWF, European Environmental Bureau, CEE Bankwatch, AMO, Greenpeace, NGO Ecoclub, Transparency International EU and Razom We Stand, Ecoaction submitted a joint open letter to the Ukraine Facility COM(2023)338 trialogue negotiators to advocate for an inclusive and environmentally sound Ukraine Facility that ensures the country’s sustainable recovery. 27.11.2023 Participation in Public Hearing of the High-Level Working Group on the Environmental Consequences of the War in Ukraine at the European Parliament. Ecoaction promotes engagement of civil society and local governments in processes related to reconstruction of Ukraine to ensure an inclusive, transparent and sustainable recovery. https://en.ecoaction.org.ua/on-position-ngo-ukraine-plan.html 20.07.2023 Together with non-governmental organisations CEE Bankwatch and Razom We Stand, Ecoaction submitted comments to the European Parliament, urging the integration of the Partnership Principle and environmental conditionality in the legislation on Ukraine Facility.
