Mission & Goals
The Centre for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies (EDAM) is an Istanbul based independent think tank. It contributes to the policy making process by carrying out and disseminating in-depth policy research and analysis, producing tailored recommendations, and engaging the public opinion in areas that are shaping Turkey’s position within the emerging global arena. EDAM’s research focuses on foreign policy, security policy, international economics and energy and digital policy areas. EDAM is the only independent think tank in Turkey having developed and retained a research and dissemination capacity with convening power. This is the outcome of an almost 20 years long track record of producing unbiased, academically sound and policy relevant research. This has been enabled by an allegiance to strong internal governance rules over the years. This track record has allowed EDAM to consistently engage with policymakers, even amid a challenging political climate.

Communication Activities
- The EDAM Bodrum Roundtable is EDAM’s flagship annual international conference for leading opinion leaders, which is held in Bodrum, a resort area along the Aegean coast of Turkey. EDAM Bodrum Roundtable focuses on global issues, transatlantic relations, Turkey’s domestic, international political dynamics, EU-Turkiye relations and artificial intelligence. - EDAM publishes reports and analyses on EU policies, including disinformation, the Digital Services Act, the Digital Markets Act, the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and EU-Turkiye relations.
