Mission & Goals

AIReGo promotes the ethical, transparent and responsible development and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in line with European and national legislation. The Foundation provides expertise, research and training to support human rights, non-discrimination and privacy, while fostering innovation and interdisciplinary cooperation. It supports the creation and implementation of AI policies, standards and regulatory frameworks, conducts impact assessments and analyses, and facilitates the practical application of AI across sectors such as healthcare, where explainability, ethics and data protection are essential. AIReGo also strengthens institutional capacity, supports digital transformation, promotes sustainable development and raises public awareness of AI’s role in society. Its activities include training, expert analyses, audits, publications, participation in EU and international projects, and partnerships with civil society,academia, businesses and authorities.

Member Of

The Foundation is registered under Bulgarian law as a non-profit legal entity in accordance with the Act on Non-Profit Legal Entities (Закон за юридическите лица с нестопанска цел – ЗЮЛНЦ). Pursuant to Article 33(1) of the Act, a foundation is established by a unilateral constitutive act through which property is granted free of charge to achieve a non-profit purpose. Under this legal form, foundations do not have members (Art. 33-36 ). Accordingly, AIReGo Center has no members. At present, it also has no partners or sponsors in the sense of association membership and is not part of any umbrella or confederation structure. The Foundation is governed by a Director and a Management Board and currently has one research fellow and project manager, all of whom act on a voluntary basis. AIReGo Center may, however, cooperate with institutions, academic bodies, and NGOs on specific projects or initiatives of public interest, on a non-profit basis and in line with its statutory objectives.
