Mission & Goals

Caritas Africa is the social pastoral ministry of the Catholic Church in Africa. It groups together 46 National Caritas Organizations in 46 African countries. The Strategic priorities for Caritas Africa are: 1. Uphold Caritas as an expression of the organised charity of the Church in Africa 2. Reinforce the effectiveness and resilience of Caritas Africa Member Organisations 3. Save Lives and reduce the impact of humanitarian crisis in Africa Region. 4. Engage Caritas Africa Member Organisations in transforming unjust structures for a fair and fraternal world Caritas Africa is keen to see flourishing communities in Africa, where love, reconciliation, justice, peace and prosperity prevail for all; where each member of the community contributes to the common good, where the resources of the environment are used responsibly and for the good of all, where citizens enjoy benefits of democracy and good governance and where the dignity of all women, men and children is promoted.
