CARE is one of the world’s biggest independent humanitarian organisations. Our vision is that of a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and all human beings live as equals in dignity and security. Our thinking and our actions are based on religious and political independence. CARE currently operates in 121 countries throughout the world, supporting over 53 million people in 2024.
EU Legislative Interests
CARE Österreich as an organization for humanitarian aid and development cooperation is monitoring EU policy in the following areas impacting on our work: development cooperation, humanitarian aid, gender equality and women’s empowerment, implementation of UNSCR 1325/women, peace & security, climate change, food and nutrition security, post 2015 development agenda.
