Mission & Goals
The “Carano 4 Children” is a non-profit foundation created and registered in Belgium in March 2018 at "Tribunale de l'Entreprise de Bruxelles". It is by status a non-profit organisation. It has the mission to develop the artistic and scientific skills of children and support children in need - such as orphans or abandoned children, children in refugee camps, children in hospitals – and helps them to overcome post-traumatic stress via art & science and creating a cultural and solidarity bridge between children. This includes both children living in Europe and those living in other countries, showing that every child has the potential to be a “genius”.
EU Legislative Interests
The foundation is interested in the following policies and programmes of the EU: - European Education Area - STEM Education - Erasmus+ programme - Creative Europe programme The foundation does not seek to influence the EU policy-making, but rather aims to interact with EU staff to present its activities and have moral support, and invite EU staff and policymakers to its events, such as the Award ceremony of the young winners of the "Leonardo 4 Children" awards on climate, equality and peace, and invite EU staff and policymakers to present EU policies to participants in our events.
Communication Activities
The foundation has won an Erasmus+ project under KA220 Cooperation Partnership (as coordinator, together with 6 other partners across the EU) and has applied to other funding programmes under Erasmus+ and Creative Europe programmes. In the context of the participation in "EU Climate Pact" and in the context of the Erasmus+ funded project "Leonardo 4 Children Academy", and in the overall "Leonardo 4 Children" initiative the foundation has promoted the importance of education on the topics of climate action, equality and peace, and the STEAM education. It has also promoted the cross-European collaboration between schools, public authorities, foundations, NGOs and private entities in favour of education for children and support to children in need with art & science.
