Mission & Goals

The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is a globally influential Institute developing leadership and solutions for a sustainable economy. Our Rewiring the Economy framework shows how the economy can be ‘rewired’, through focused collaboration between business, government and finance institutions, to deliver positive outcomes for people and environment in pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). EU Legislative Interests

Main EU legislative proposals or policies targeted: The Corporate Leaders Group is essentially about driving strategic, long-term, transformational change in the economy towards sustainability. The Group is focusing on the changes necessary to ensure long-term economic prosperity, competitive advantage and corporate sustainability at an EU-wide level. Files currently followed by our organisation: Enabling framework for the Climate Law: ETS, RED, CBAM, EED, ETS revision and Social Climate Fund Circular Economy Act Clean Industrial Deal and enabling framework: Industry Accelerator Act, Grids Package, Competitiveness Fund Centre for Sustainable Finance (CSF) is a research, education and practice hub on financial market reform. It aims to help governments, financial institutions and businesses build a sustainable financial system. Its work is underpinned by insights from CISL’s finance sector business groups, representing leaders from over 50 financial institutions across five continents. The three finance sector business groups include ClimateWise, the Banking Environment Initiative and the Investment Leaders Group. CSF works with and engages the financial sector to analyse systemic risks and opportunities related to sustainability and nature finance.
