Mission & Goals

ByQwest is a European company specialising in the orchestration of digital payments. It acts as an issuing processor for financial institutions, fintechs, and corporates seeking to issue payment cards, process transactions, or offer value-added services within the payment ecosystem. Its mission is to simplify and secure access to European payment systems—whether domestic, international, or emerging (including stablecoins and the Digital Euro)—while promoting transparency, efficiency, and technological sovereignty. ByQwest advocates for innovation, interoperability, and fair competition in the European payments landscape. It supports balanced regulation that enables new entrants, fosters alternatives to dominant non-European actors, and serves the broader interests of consumers, merchants, and banks.

ByQwest regularly engages in communication activities aimed at raising awareness around innovation in payments, European financial sovereignty, and the regulatory evolution of digital financial services. These activities include: - Organising and participating in European conferences and industry events on payments, fintech, and financial regulation (e.g., Money 20/20 Europe, sectoral forums in Brussels and Strasbourg). - Informal meetings and exchanges with EU institutional representatives (European Commission, European Parliament, ECB) on topics such as the Digital Euro, instant payments, PSD3, and domestic scheme interoperability. - Publishing articles, opinion pieces, and position papers on regulatory and innovation issues in the payment sector (notably via LinkedIn and specialised media outlets). - Contributing to public consultation issued by the European Commission or regulatory authorities (e.g., EBA, ECB, DG FISMA). - Supporting sectoral communication initiatives that promote European payment solutions and alternatives to dominant non-European players. These actions are intended to contribute constructively to regulatory dialogue and ensure that the voice of emerging technology players is heard in EU policy development.
