Mission & Goals
BUTEKOM aims to bridge research, industry and innovation in the fields of textiles, technical textiles, advanced materials and industrial manufacturing. The organization supports companies, particularly SMEs, by providing R&D services, laboratories, training and technology transfer activities. Its remit is to promote sustainable industrial transformation, encourage the adoption of innovative processes and products, and strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem in alignment with national and EU priorities.
EU Legislative Interests
BUTEKOM contributes technical expertise to EU strategies relating to sustainable industrial development, advanced materials and textile innovation. The organisation follows and provides input where relevant to: - EU Industrial Strategy - EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles - Horizon Europe research priorities (Clusters 2, 4 and 5) - Green Deal objectives on resource efficiency and decarbonisation BUTEKOM’s role is to support knowledge sharing and stakeholder dialogue. It does not undertake lobbying activities for commercial interests.
Communication Activities
BUTEKOM communicates EU-related activities primarily through public dissemination of EU-funded project outcomes, workshops, newsletters, and social media updates that promote awareness of EU research and innovation priorities. These communications aim to inform stakeholders in industry, academia, and public institutions about opportunities and results within the EU policy framework, especially in areas related to sustainable manufacturing, digitalisation, and green technologies.
