Mission & Goals
Established in 1889, the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is one of Turkey’s oldest and most influential chambers, playing a leading role in shaping the economic and commercial life of Bursa. BCCI is a leading chamber of commerce and industry in Turkey, serving almost 60,000 member companies. The primary mission of BCCI is to enhance the global competitiveness of its members, contribute to the economic development of the region, and transform Bursa into a globally recognized brand city. In line with this vision, BCCI undertakes pioneering projects in various fields including industry, trade, export, entrepreneurship, vocational education, and digital transformation. BCCI also provides a wide range of services to its members such as consultancy, training programs, and domestic and international company missions, acting as a guide for the business community. Key focus areas of the Chamber include university-industry collaboration, sustainability, R&D, and innovation.
EU Legislative Interests
As a proactive representative of the Turkish business community, BCCI closely follows and aligns with key European Union legislative proposals and policies, particularly those related to SME competitiveness, green and digital transformation, circular economy, sustainable trade, and innovation ecosystems. BTSO aims to ensure that its members are prepared for and can benefit from the evolving EU regulatory environment, including the European Green Deal,Fit for 55 Package, Digital Europe Programme, and Customs and Trade Facilitation measures. BCCI aligns its strategic goals with key EU policy frameworks, including the EU SME Strategy for a Sustainable and Digital Europe (2020), the Small Business Act for Europe (2008), and the EU Industrial Strategy. Through its role in the Enterprise Europe Network and participation in EU-funded projects, BCCI supports SMEs in Bursa with digital transformation, green transition, innovation, and internationalization. The Chamber actively promotes an SME-friendly environment, facilitates access to finance and markets, and drives industrial modernization through cluster development and university-industry cooperation. By integrating these EU priorities into its services and initiatives, BCCI strengthens the global competitiveness of its members and contributes to a more sustainable, resilient, and digitally empowered regional economy aligned with European standards. Through its EEN activities, BCCI enables companies in Bursa to participate in international matchmaking events, innovation advisory services, and technology transfer activities, thus aligning local business capacities with European priorities. BCCI maintains a strong connection with Eurochambres, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which serves as a key intermediary between EU institutions and the European business community. Through this connection, BCCI: -Participates in EU-level consultations and policy dialogues -Shares the perspective of Turkish SMEs on European regulatory developments -Contributes to shaping EU programs and projects that impact the wider region -Promotes collaboration between Turkish and European chambers This strategic partnership reinforces BCCI’s mission of supporting its members in navigating EU frameworks, enhancing international cooperation, and positioning Bursa as a competitive and innovation-driven region within the extended European business ecosystem. Additionally, through its EU Information Center, BCCI plays a vital role in raising awareness among the Turkish public about EU policies, values, and integration processes. By integrating these efforts, BTSO enhances the global competitiveness of its members and contributes to a sustainable, resilient, and EU-aligned regional economy.

Key types of outreach and communication activities include: Collaboration through Eurochambres: As part of the Eurochambres network, BCCI contributes to joint position papers, surveys, and working groups that relay the views of chambers from candidate countries to EU policymakers.
