The regular 'staff' of NSF consist of the 4 forestry directors (NSF Directors' Group) from each NSF member organisatons as well as 4 liaison policy advisor from each member organisations (NSF Policy Group). Both the members of the Directors' Group and the Policy Group dedicate part time of their work hours to dedicated 'NSF activities' on an ad-hoc basis, depending on EU policy developments and events in Brussels. Their related staff costs are incorporated in the budgets of their respective organisations, their work dedicated to NSF activities is not remunerated from the dedicated NSF budget, but from their organisations' respective budgets.
