Mission & Goals
Bumble Inc. is the parent company of Bumble, Badoo, and Bumble For Friends. The Bumble platform brings people closer to love by enabling them to build healthy relationships. Founded in 2014 by Whitney Wolfe Herd, who serves as CEO, Bumble was one of the first dating apps built with women at the center and connects people across dating (Bumble Date) and friendship (Bumble For Friends). Badoo, founded in 2006, was one of the pioneers of web and mobile dating products. Bumble For Friends is a friendship app made to help you find your people.
EU Legislative Interests
Bumble engages with EU policymakers on issues related to regulating the technology industry - particularly the Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act, and Artificial Intelligence Act - as well as on the Directive on combating violence against women and domestic violence, and other issues that impact women's safety and online toxicity.
Communication Activities
Bumble advocates for legislation that would create penalties for the act of sending unsolicited lewd images, also known as cyberflashing in the EU, the UK and the US. We are actively engaged on issues concerning intimate image abuse, tackling online toxicity, and combating tech-facilitated gendered harms. Our campaigns include conducting research on the above mentioned topics, organising events, drafting position papers and amendments, as well as outreach to policymakers.
