Mission & Goals
Main Goals & Objectives Bullish aims to foster a secure, transparent, and competitive digital asset market structure for the EU and ensure that it is competitive compared to other major financial markets, including: - The appropriate use of eligible cryptoassets as collateral for derivatives and use of eligible EU regulated EMTs in clearing; - Extending mutual determination regimes with respect to cryptoassets, including cryptoassets spot trading and derivatives, with third country regulators, such as the CFTC and SEC in the United States. Remit & Purpose of Liaison Bullish engages with EU institutions (European Commission, Parliament, ESMA) to provide technical expertise on: - Liquidity & Trading: Advising on global market structure and clearing. - Custody: Defining safety standards for digital asset storage. - Innovation: Merging the best features from traditional financial markets with blockchain technology.
EU Legislative Interests
The EU Market Integration Package (https://finance.ec.europa.eu/publications/market-integration-package_en#documents). Specific areas of focus include: - Integrated regulation of trading venues for digital asset referenced derivatives, tokenised financial instruments and spot digital asset trading; - Regulation of crpto asset custodians and its relationship with CSDs and CCPs; - Use of eligible cryptoassets by investment firms and CCPs as eligible collateral; - Use of eligible EMTs by CSDs and CCPs for clearing and settlement purposes; and - Interaction with third country regulators and equivalence determinations.
Communication Activities
The communication activities will mainly include: - Private meetings with members of the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Ecoomic and Social Committee and their staff; - submission of policy papers and recommendations related to the issues highlighted above; - attendance of any public hearings and events.
