Mission & Goals
The Bulgarian Aviation Industry Association has as its main objective to boost the development of the aviation industry in our country by actively working to create a more favorable working environment between companies in the sector. It is also the main mediator in establishing beneficial communication between the sector and the state. It represents the companies operating in the sector before the state and international regulatory bodies in order to defend their economic, legal, professional and purely administrative interests by initiating legislative and institutional changes. BAIA develops fruitful cooperation with international organizations and associations, borrowing and promoting their experience. Currently, we have 35 active members in our Association such as airlines, repair bases, training centers, higher education institutions, drone companies, etc.

Communication Activities
- Take active role in EU regulation and laws about aviation industry - Organize or participate in meetings, conferences or events representing the objectives of the BAIA association - Participating in consultations or hearings related to changing legislation, regulations, upgrading, monitoring and improving current legal directives - Organizing communication campaigns, platforms, networks at local level - Preparation of opinions, studies and research in connection with amendments to regulations - Оrganizing forums, conferences, public debates and online discussions concerning the topics on which the BAIA association works - Cooperation agreements and memoranda with related organizations and joint projects and proposals

The Bulgarian Aviation Industry Association (BAIA) was established amid the COVID crisis and the global collapse of the airline industry. As the sector revived, the need for a body to facilitate communication within the community and between airlines and the state became evident. BAIA represents aviation companies before governmental and international regulatory bodies to protect their economic, professional, legal, and administrative interests. Currently, it includes 38 members, such as airlines, repair bases, training centers, universities, and drone companies. The Association drives legislative changes affecting aviation in Bulgaria by proposing and developing new regulations. It works to improve communication and ensure smooth administrative and operational processes across the industry. BAIA fosters international collaboration by adopting and promoting best practices from global aviation organizations. It also systematizes industry information to highlight successful practices and enhance sector performance. To support industry growth, BAIA initiates training programs that encourage cooperation among aviation companies, aiming to create a better working environment. It actively works on a vocational education strategy in aviation, seeking to attract young talent and lay a solid foundation for the industry’s future. Relying on the expertise and dedication of its members, BAIA organizes seminars, conferences, trainings, and promotional events to inspire generational continuity. Its ultimate goal is to strengthen Bulgaria's aviation industry and establish the country as a key aviation hub in Europe and globally.
