Mission & Goals
Bulgarian Association of Software Companies was established in 2001. BASSCOM is a non-profit industry association representing more than 120 leading companies developing software products and systems and offering comprehensive IT solutions, and over 150 associated members, among which universities, VET providers, foundations, venture capital funds, etc. The main objectives of the Association are to promote the Bulgarian software industry, to develop professionalism and competitiveness, to work for the improvement of the education system and the introduction of e-government, e-health, and other innovative solutions in different domains in the country and to participate in creating and implementing policies for effective IT investments for the benefit of the entire society.
EU Legislative Interests
BASSCOM is committed to protecting the common interests if its member companies in socio-political decisions on issues affecting the software sector in Bulgaria. The Association participates in the process of policy formation at a strategic level. BASSCOM actively works to ensure a sustainable business climate and an adequate legal framework in Bulgaria and the EU, with the aim of predictability in the development of the sector and the attraction of foreign investments. As a co-founder and active member of European Digital SME Alliance, BASSCOM maintains regular contacts with the institutions and participate in the drafting and amending of regulations, directives and other legislation related to the development of the ICT sector - ICT standardisation, European Data Economy, Digital skills and jobs, Cybersecurity, e-Privacy, digital platforms, fair taxation, etc.
