Mission & Goals
To represent and protect the best interests of our insurance broker and intermediary members and the customer BIBA strives to achieve this by: Promoting: the services and contribution that insurance brokers and intermediaries provide with advice, guidance and access to risk management and insurance protection. Influencing: the relevant decision makers and policy writers that affect our sector. Maintaining: and developing a stable business environment in which our members operate by keeping them informed of relevant issues, providing a forum for discussion and the exchange of non competitive information. Supporting: members both collectively and individually through a series of facilities and support services.
EU Legislative Interests
Legislative files include the Insurance Distribution Directive, (IDD) plus its delegated acts (eg IPID Regulation, POG Regulation and amendments to the PII minimum limits within the IDD) and the Motor Insurance Directive.
Communication Activities
Meeting with commission representatives and regulators to discuss matters that impact our members and their customers such as the implications resulting from CJEU interpretation of the Motor Insurance Directive. Attending meetings as a member of the European Federation of Insurance Intermediaries

Organisation Members
BIBA represents approximately 1,800 member firms. Whilst we do not publish a static list of BIBA members on our website, members of the public are able to access a list of BIBA members within a radius of their home or business, or that provide specialist insurance broking services to meet their non-standard needs (eg travel insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions)
