Mission & Goals
THE BRITISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE | EU & BELGIUM IS AN INDEPENDENT, INCLUSIVE AND NOT-FOR-PROFIT ASSOCIATION THAT SERVES THE BUSINESS INTERESTS OF ITS DIVERSE INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP. Our purpose is to work for the strongest possible economic relationship between the UK and the EU, and between the UK and Belgium, because we believe this is good for business and society to achieve their long-term strategic objectives. VISION Our aim is to continue to grow in stature, reputation and influence in order to help create an open, fair and dynamic European business environment. MISSION Our mission is to play a pivotal role in the development of mutually beneficial policies and activities, whilst connecting people, corporations and institutions on our independent business platform. We will continue to build meaningful and sustainable relationships based upon shared values and interests, mutual respect and trust.
EU Legislative Interests
Several core committees organise events and activities supporting our members interests in the following areas: EU Policy, including sustainability, digital, healthcare, competition, energy, financial services, chemicals, defence and security, industrial policy, economic security, and trade. UK - EU Relations Bilateral business activity Brussels New Generation, a network supporting young professionals in Brussels.
Communication Activities
The events we arrange range from small scale briefings with ten people, focused on specific and often technical dossiers, to large scale conferences or dinners with senior speakers from national and EU government and business covering strategic considerations. Our communication activities are centred around our events - mainly through online media and mailing to our members. We produce position papers and publications with our various working groups and committees. We organise projects around trade and business development between UK and the EU.
