Mission & Goals

Borzen was founded on 28th March 2001 for the implementation of public utility service relating to the organisation of the electricity market and many other activities in Slovenia, connected also with the use of renewable sources and the efficient use of energy. We execute the activities of balance scheme management, recording of closed contracts, elaboration of indicative operating schedule, imbalance settlement and financial settlement of transactions. Within the Centre for RES/CHP support, we stimulate environmental policies and promote public awareness. The Centre for Alternative Fuels of Borzen is responsible for promoting and facilitating the transition to sustainable mobility by managing electric-vehicle charging infrastructure, administering grants for alternative fuel technologies and serving as a central information and support hub for stakeholders.

Europex - https://www.europex.org/ Europex is the Association of European Energy Exchanges, the business association for energy exchanges, market operators and delegated operators in Europe. As energy market infrastructure providers, the core activities of Europex members include, among other tasks, the operation of wholesale electricity, gas and emissions markets in long-term and short-term timeframes. In addition, they act as Organised Market Places (OMPs), Registered Reporting Mechanisms (RRMs) and Inside Information Platforms (IIPs) in the framework of the EU Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) and operate registries for Guarantees of Origin for renewable energy.

Additional Information

No direct grants, but the company participated / participates in EU co-financed projects (H2020, Horizon Europe) Borzen is EUROPEX member with 25.000 € fee. The costs for one GA meeting in 2024 amounts to a total of EUR 967, consisting of EUR 456 for the flight, EUR 399 for accommodation, and EUR 112 for daily allowances.
