Mission & Goals
The BOOST research consortium (2021-2027) aims to mainstream biodiversity protection and enable a just transition towards ecological compensation. Ecological compensation refers to the compensation of environmental damage caused by ecologically harmful activities through concrete improvements and actions in nature . The three impact objectives of the Ecological Compensation in a Just Transition to a Net Neutrality of Nature (BOOST) project are: - Improving national and international understanding of ecological compensation; - Development of an ecological compensation system; and -Mainstreaming ecological compensation. Together, the goals aim to design, build and implement an ecological compensation system based on researched information in Finland.
