Mission & Goals
BEST, Board of European Students of Technology is a constantly growing non-profit and politically unaffiliated organisation. Since 1989 we provide communication, co-operation and exchange possibilities for technology students all over Europe. 83 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) in 29 countries are creating a growing, well organised, powerful, young and innovative student network. BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore, we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events and educational symposium. "Learning makes the master", but the final goal is a good working place, therefore we offer services like an international career centre to broaden the horizons for the choice on the job market.

Additional Information
We have not received specific EU grants, only grants from Council of Europe (European Youth Foundation). We are currently applying for the CSC-FPA-SGA (a grant of 75.000 EUR for the civil society cooperation in the field of youth for the framework partnership agreement as a specific grant agreement from the European Commission, but no money has yet to be rewarded. We currently have no staff, only volunteers who do not receive a salary. We are looking into hiring staff. However, no staff is so far paid by us, we only pay for rent of office space, administrative costs and some allowances (minimal, 350 EUR annually per member of the International Board). This is why our annual costs related to activities of representation are low. We have many other activities taking place which cost a lot more funds, however these activities do not technically fall under activities covered by the register.
