Mission & Goals
The National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) - representing the rights and campaigning on behalf of more than 250 000 working people. BNS is committed to achieve a free, just, equality-based society, acknowledging the rights of all workers and citizens to enjoy a good quality of life. BNS strives to achieve economic development, social cohesion and justice by upholding the values of solidarity, fairness, democracy and equality. The main instruments for the achievement of this mission will be the organization of workers in unions, and the implementation of the policies developed in order to deliver its vision of a just society. We will engage with the government, employers, civil society organizations, voluntary groups and international bodies to promote its attainment

Communication Activities
Letters sent by BNS on November 6, 2025, to ETUC, Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission and Roxana Minzatu, Vice-President of the European Commission, regarding our Amicus Curiae submission to the CJEU in Case C-19/23, emphasizing the critical importance of the Adequate Minimum Wages Directive for the European social model and the rights of workers in Romania; Building on its commitment to defending labor standards, on October 13, 2025, BNS addressed Ms. Roxana Mînzatu, executive vice-president of the European Commission, and Mr. Mario Nava, director general of DG Emplyment, formally alerting them to the systematic violations of social dialogue principles and the obstruction of collective bargaining occurring in Romania. On 29 July BNS and ETUC participated at an online meeting with representatives of the Euroepan Commission, DG Employment in relation to our notification of the EC on the ongoing decisions of the Romanian Government against staff of the public administration dealing with EU funds. On 11 March 2025 BNS was represented at the EMCO PAG - Tripartite meeting with EU and national social partners On February 16, 2025, BNS wrote to European Commission's Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu, to request support against the severe undermining of trade union rights and collective bargaining in Romania by the Romanian government through the Emergency Ordinance No. 156/2024, which significantly weakens fundamental labor rights and poses a serious threat to social dialogue and workers’ protections in Romania.
