Mission & Goals
The Bird of Light Foundation (BOLF) is a US-based 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization focused on fundraising, donor engagement, and international advocacy in support of civilian relief efforts in Ukraine. BOLF raises funds from Western donors and directs resources to vetted Ukrainian implementing partners and organizations carrying out field operations within Ukraine. BOLF's advocacy work spans awareness-raising, donor coordination, and engagement with international partners and institutions to sustain support for conflict-affected Ukrainian communities. Areas of focus include food security, clean water access, and civilian protection. Through this structure, BOLF bridges Western civil society and the humanitarian needs of Ukrainians affected by the ongoing conflict.
EU Legislative Interests
General EU policy and high-level advocacy regarding humanitarian aid, civilian protection, and sustained support for conflict-affected communities in Ukraine.
Communication Activities
Hosting the "Empty Beds" travelling art exhibition to engage European audiences, institutions, and elected representatives. The exhibition serves as a platform for high-level humanitarian advocacy and awareness-raising regarding civilian displacement and the human cost of the conflict in Ukraine.

Member Of
BOLF is not currently a member of any formal associations, confederations, or networks. However, in our capacity as a fundraising entity, BOLF sponsors and contributes financial resources to vetted Ukrainian implementing partners—most notably our primary operational partner, Bird of Light Ukraine (BOLU)—to carry out civilian relief efforts on the ground.
Organisation Members
BOLF operates in a two-entity structure alongside its affiliated Ukrainian organization, Bird of Light Ukraine (BOLU). BOLF (the US-based entity) handles international fundraising and advocacy, while BOLU (the Ukrainian entity) is the affiliated organization responsible for implementing humanitarian operations within Ukraine. www.birdoflightukraine.org
Additional Information
The declared budget represents BOLF's expenses for the 2025 financial year. The vast majority of these funds were directed toward humanitarian aid, services, and civilian relief operations, rather than EU advocacy. BOLF is a volunteer-driven organization; our staff and representatives are strictly unpaid, though the foundation does cover necessary travel and out-of-pocket expenses.
Commissioner Meetings
No recorded meetings with EU commissioners.
