Mission & Goals
Bioenergy Europe is a non profit Brussels based international organisation founded in 1990 whose mission is to develop sustainable bioenergy production and use in the EU (and beyond). Bioenergy Europe's membership base is primarily coming from the EU and consists of approximately 40 national associations and about 140 companies from all steps of the bioenergy value chain. Bioenergy Europe is involved in a number of activities such as lobbying the EU institutions via position papers and responses to the EU consultations, EU projects. Bioenergy Europe hosts the European Pellet Council (EPC), an internal network of national pellet associations. EPC manages ENplus(r), the leading scheme on wood pellet fuel quality certification and is active on all issues related to collaboration and promotion of the wood pellet sector in Europe. Bioenergy Europe also organizes its’ annual European Bioenergy Conference and relevant European events
