Mission & Goals
Billerud offers innovative packaging solutions and sustainable packaging materials made from natural cellulose fibre. We are a leading producer and create value through our deep knowledge of materials and optimally designed packaging. Billerud purpose is to make high performance packaging materials for a low carbon society. Future sustainable packaging solutions must not contribute negatively to climate change and need to be designed and constructed so that they fit better into a circular economy. To succeed with this transition, we need to push the global agenda and make sure that regulatory changes are in favor of a circular economy based on renewable and recyclable raw material. EU Legislative Interests
Initiatives related to energy, climate, circular economy, bio-economy, biodiversity, recycling, transport, trade, innovation, packaging, forestry, Fit for 55, Biodiversity strategy, The Green deal, Forest strategy, Sustainable Carbon Cycle, Carbon Farming, Carbon credits, Sustainable Products Initiative, Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), The Single-Use Plastics Directive (EU) 2019/904, The EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).
Communication Activities
2025 Communication activities done by direct meetings, e-mails and responding to EU commissions request for information. Information regarding the effects of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation to the European Commission and MEP in writing and verbal communication. Information to the European Commission and MEP regarding the effects of the changes in the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) by responding to EU commissions request for information and direct with regards to the 95% rule and proposals regarding BECCS. Information to the European Commission by responding to EU commissions request for information and direct regarding a coming proposal of a Bioeconomy strategy.
