Mission & Goals
The Benelux Association of Trademark and Design Law is a professional association of legal specialists. All the members work for patent and/or trademark agents, patent and trademark departments of large companies, as lawyers or as (university) lecturers. The association promotes and guarantees the quality of the professional practice of its members, ensuring expert advice and guidance on registration (protection) of trademarks and (industrial) designs, negotiations and possible conflicts.
EU Legislative Interests
All issues related to intellectual property, more particularly trademark and design law. For instance, examination and comments on Rules of Appeal Proceedings of the Boards of Appeal, EUIPO guidelines, Common Practices, (package) proposals to revise the EU legislation on design protection, Virtual Communities etc.
Communication Activities
Publication of BMM Bulletin (on intellectual property). Twice a year a conference on intellectual property is organized. In addition, BMM organizes on a regular basis presentations on important topics in the field of intellectual property in the Netherlands and Belgium. The BMM actively participates in surveys and events organized by EUIPO.
